Beaches & Shores of Connecticut
Along its eastern coast, Connecticut has more than 3 dozen beach areas; however, not all beaches are open to visitors during peak season due to conservation efforts.
Milford -When visiting here, you will find 4 beaches--The Gulf Beach, Silver Sands State Park, Walnut Beach and Anchor.
East Haven Town Beach - Here you can enjoy beach combing or swimming anytime from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is also a pavilion, snack/concessions, restrooms and showers.
Madison -There are 4 beaches here as well. The Surf Club is the largest and offers a wide variety of sporting areas, a picnic area complete with grills, a game room, a snack bar, a First Aid Station, restrooms and showers. For fishing and tide pool exploring spend a day at West Warf Beach; the East Wharf beach, once home to Minor’s Shipyard, has a gazebo, water fountains, and outdoor showers; and, Webster Point Beach offers privacy and good snorkeling along its sandbar.
Westbrook’s Town Beach - This a beautiful and well-maintained beach that is great for the entire family. There are restrooms, snacks, showers, and a playground.
Noank - Esker Point Beach is great for families with young children or new swimmers as the water here is not much more than waist deep. There are concessions, a picnic area, restrooms, and during the summer, free concerts on Thursday nights.
Stonington -Dubois Beach is known as Connecticut’s most beautiful beach; it does not offer any amenities, but the sights from its shore make up for its lack of “extras”.
Stamford - Cove Beach has something for everyone—no matter your age or interest. The 83 acre park has skating, biking, basketball, softball, tennis, and horseshoes.. There are paths for walking jogging as well as a playground, picnic area and a tram.
