Best Places to Fish in Connecticut

With all the lakes, rivers, streams, and of course the ocean in Connecticut there's plenty of fishing. Below are a few of the favorite fishing spots in CT.

West Thompson Lake in Thompson is a 200 acre bass fisherman's dream. The lake was created by impounding part of the Quinebaug Rivers.

For bass and pike fishing visit Mansfield Hollow Lake. The 450 acre lake is maintained by the U.S. Army Corps.

Quinebaug State Park - This fisherman's paradise in Killingly offers bass, pickerel, crappie, perch and bullhead. Bring along your license, boat (electric or paddle) and your tackle box and come ready for fishing fun.

Killingly Pond State Park - The 200 acre lake in the eastern part of Connecticut has acidic water that is home to numerous bass. For trout fishing visit Ross Pond State Park, also in Killingly.

For Salmon Fishing head to Spague and the banks of the Shetucket River which is known for its abundant fish.

Additional Trout fishing can be found at the beautiful Fenton River in Gurleyville where spring and summer sunshine bring out colorful wildflowers and in the fall the trees are resplendent in color.
